With such a long career in the professional nail industry, Marian has been ‘hands on’ within the professional side of the nail industry. Described as a ‘figurehead’, she has been involved in the qualification structure and strategy since 1989. She has written a textbook that was reprinted several times; updated recently and, again reprinted many times. Marian is very proud that both books have a Nick Knight image on the cover; the most recent one being an exclusive piece of artwork created just for the book, shown here on the right.

In recent years, Marian has been the Chairperson for the Nails Services Forum and on the Committee for Habia (Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority) and is heavily involved in updating the Occupational Standards, the new Diploma for secondary schools and the new qualification framework for all nations within the UK.

With this ‘education’ head together with the science ‘head’, Marian has written many articles for the industry. These are just a few and they may interest some visitors to the website.
